Some bounces and long landings. It's a transition like any other in flight training and they had plenty of hours in other smaller and less powerful aircraft. Those other aircraft air cheaper to operate for training the basics, but with that training down you move on to aircraft more oriented for combat, which are obviously more expensive. It's the rate of visual cue acquisition here, things are moving much faster now and the aircraft is more powerful and nimble. Once they get accustomed to that new environment the runway won't look like it's a foot below where it really is.

There aren’t any A-10s based at Laughlin and these will continue to fly through 2026.

Nice vid! Never saw a General Dynamics Fighting Falcon land in Laughlin when I was servicing T-37/38’s back in the 80’s. I was with the last of the 47th FMS in ‘89, when maintenance went civil service. Reassigned to F-16’s at Edwards AFB, then not allowed to re-up in ‘91 after Desert Storm, thanks to the RIF. AIM HIGH! (That’s what she said) 😂

what a sad day,loved watching A-10's at Raf Bentwaters back in the 80's & early 90's,i bet theirs not a front line fighter today that can take the amount of battle damage a A-10 can & still get the pilot home

A truly purpose built aircraft, useless in a dogfight; but deadly for ground targets. I can't believe they are retiring it.
